3 Simple Steps to Clear Skin 

My skin is smooth, supple and free from any spots which means I don’t have to wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis. I do have days where I randomly break out in one or two annoying little spots but the majority of the time my skin is, quite luckily actually, clear.

My skin actually took a U turn from being spotty, bumpy and dreadful to smooth, supple and flawless. So what changed?

1. Cut down on makeup for a while

I didn’t wear any makeup for 2 months which allowed my skin to properly recover from all the chemicals and god knows what I was putting on my skin. Two months is a little bit drastic, I know, but just give your skin some days to breathe and be free. I don’t wear makeup every day, I have at least 2 or 3 days a week where my skin is free! If you don’t need to cake your face then don’t, trust me.

2. Clean your skin properly  

Make sure you wash your face. It’s as simple as that. Make sure you wash it before you go to bed- always!! Honestly, you need to. It’s a must! The best soap for me is Dove’s Beauty Cream Bar because it’s gentle to my skin, smells nice and doesn’t leave my skin feeling extremely dry like certain other brands. However, just like with any beauty product remember that it’s all down to your own personal preferences and what’s kind to your skin.

In terms of cleansers I recommend Estee Lauder’s Perfectly Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask. You can use it in the morning and night as a daily cleanser or once or twice a week as a 3 minute purifying mask.

It works for all skin types and is perfect for normal/combination skin. My skin always feels so fresh and clean afterwards! I know I mention Estée Lauder a lot but it’s because they’re one of my most trusted brands; worth every penny.

3. Drink plenty of water 

I drink so much water it’s unbelievable. I’ve recently read online that too much water is bad for you and I actually started to worry- that’s how much I drink!! But why do I drink so much? It’s great for you!! The benefits are endless and in regards to your skin you’d be a fool not to. When I don’t drink water my skin feels dry and I feel so tired. Take advantage of it.

So, there you have it. 3 very easy steps for clearer skin. But, remember to excercise and eat clean too!!

I’m surprised you didn’t mention anything about quitting smoking or getting regular exercise(which improves circulation which is good for the skin), but I understand you wanted to keep things basic for now. Of course, some people can smoke and still have healthy skin, though that is rare. Have fun!


    1. Thank you! Well I don’t smoke so it didn’t cross my mind as I was referring to what I do as the basics, and I could’ve added exercising into my post briefly under point number 3 as it ties in with it nicely but yes another post should cover all these things!
